Process of My Wall Mandala

 Process of My Wall Mandala

From the time I posted my wall mandala picture, I've been asked a lot of questions about it. Like " Where did you start from?" and " How long did it take you?".

I thought I could post a small video on how I drew it.

A few questions and their answers.

How did you draw the semi-circles?
Ans: I used a thread and tied a pencil on one end and an iron nail on the other. You then place the iron nail in the center and use the pencil on the other side to draw the circles. To draw different size of circles, you have to adjust the length of the thread.

How long did it take for you to complete this?

Ans: To be honest, it took me many weeks to plan, draw and sketch out the entire wall mandala. The key rule is to be patient throughout the completion of your artwork.

How did you do it? Where did you start from?

Ans: As mentioned above, I first drew the semi-circles with my DIY compass. After I drew them, I planned out my designs on paper and transferred them onto the wall. Now it was the time to sketch. Using black paint would have been difficult, so I chose to sketch it out with a waterproof marker. As I had done this on my compound wall, it was exposed to sunlight, rain etc. I applied a transparent coat of paint on top of the wall to protect it. These are the things that had to be done to successfully finish my first wall mandala :)
